Hirschbock, Cunial, Smith Win Kart Races
At Little Southern Oregon Speedway

White City, Oregon...August 11...Ryan Hirschbock stayed in the championship hunt with his second 15 lap Box Stock Main Event win Friday night at Little Southern Oregon Speedway. As Hirschbock sprinted into the lead, several karts got bunched up exiting Turn 2. Hirschbock held a straightaway advantage by the time point leader Keaton Augustine made his Turn 4 pass on Mason King for second on lap six. Hirschbock scored the impressive win ahead of Augustine, King, Willamette point leader Keagan Bounds and Cottage Grove point leader Kasey Simmons.

Yreka point leader Cale Cunial won the 20 lap 250 Kart Main Event. Cale held off his twin brother, Cole Cunial, for the win. Taylor Fuller turned in a solid effort in third, followed by point leader Vinny DeBenedetti and Dallin Dagata.

Hayfork's Chayce Smith made his first appearance since the season opener and won another 12 lap Beginner's Box Stock Main Event. Unlike the feature winners in the other divisions, who won both of their heat races, Smith finished second to Kellen Hurst and point leader Carson Henson in his heats. Smith led the Main Event from the start with Henson in close pursuit. The leaders caught a slower kart as they raced to the checkered flag, and Smith managed to just beat Henson back to the line for the win. Austin Bartholomew finished third, followed by Malachi Johnson and Albert Gill Jr.

Point leader Steve Rambo continued to roll with his third straight 12 lap UAS Speedway Kart Main Event win. Rambo led all the way to win ahead of Ed Grubb, Lori Fuller and Ken Gaines.

Bhaltair Edwards won his second eight lap Novice Box Stock Main Event. Five year old Caleb Ranney, who is the youngest driver in the field and still very nervous about racing, received applauds from the fans each time he crossed the start finish line as he took a checkered flag in second.

The Outlaw Karts will be back for another full program on September 7th. For further information, go to www.southernoregonspeedway.com.
