Langan Wins Street Stock Race, Pfau Wins KT Clash




Langan Wins Iron Giant Street Stock Tour Feature
At Southern Oregon Speedway

White City,, Oregon...May 19...Andrew Langan won the 50 lap Iron Giant Street Stock Main Event Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway.  Langan is a Cottage Grove Speedway champion, and this win was worth $1,000.  He led all of the race with Shannon Horn challenging him most of the way in second.  Brian Cronk was a strong third ahead of Donald Schott and Daniel Land.

Nathan Augustine won the 20 lap Late Model Main Event.  The reigning champion led all the way with John Dees pressuring him in second.  Mike Linder finished third ahead of Bob Dees and Scott Lenz.

Two time SODCA Dwarf Car champion Josh King scored a $1,000 win in their 20 lap Main Event.  King took the lead from race long leader Chad Cardoza with a high pass in Turn 4 on lap 17 and went on to victory.  Cardoza settled for second ahead of Ryan Smith, Cody Peters and Randy Slater.

Charlie Eaton scored a clean sweep of the four lap Trophy Dash, six lap heat and 15 lap Valley Stor-All Late Model Lites Main Event.  Eaton took the lead from Greg Arnold with a low pass in Turn 2 on lap seven and led the rest of the way for the win.  Arnold finished second ahead of Dusty Aos and Eric Aos.

Kristopher Mix won his first career 15 lap Mini Stock Main Event.  The reigning champion took the lead from David Steele with a low pass in Turn 2 on lap 4.  Steele made a late attempt to get by  Mix, but Mix prevailed at the checkered flag.  Hunter Magnan settled for third ahead of Garrett Fredrickson and Michael McCleod.

Racing returns next Saturday night with the Northwest Focus Midgets Salute To Indy.  Kendall Oil Winged Sprint Cars, SODCA Dwarf Cars and OTRO Hardtops will also be in action.  For further information, go to www.southernoregonspeedway.com.

Pfau Wins KT100 Clash At Little Southern Oregon Speedway

White City, Oregon...May 18-19...Phil Pfau collected a $1,000 victory in the 20 lap KT100 Main Event at Little Southern Oregon Speedway. The race was sponsored by Speed City of Medford. Pfau had a front row start for the Main Event and led all the way to the checkered flag. Steve Rambo collecting a $200 second, just ahead of Daniel Kravitz, Jeremy Brown and Brent Meyer. Rambo and Pfau were the 10 lap heat race winners, and Brown made a last turn pass on Rambo to win the four lap Bragging Rights Dash.

Jeremy Brown grabbed the victory in the UAS Speedway Kart Main Event. Brown led all 20 laps, leaving Steve Rambo and Daniel Kravitz to battle it out for second. Rambo finished there ahead of Kravitz, Ed Grubb and Larry Fuller. Kravitz won both eight lap heat races.

Mike Wheeler pocketed $500 for his victory in the 25 lap 500 Open Main event. Wheeler led all the way, leaving Kenny Boardman to do the passing. Boardman came from fourth to finish second ahead of Dillen Lausen and Merissa Henson.

Trevor Grimes won the 250 Kart Main Event. Bodee Weiser led the first 12 laps with Grimes closely behind. As they worked slower traffic in Turn 3, Weiser got blocked up high, allowing Grimes to race by for the lead. A similar situation nearly cost Grimes the lead during the final two laps, but he took the checkered flag ahead of Bodee Weiser, Braden Weiser, Brionna Fuller and Vinny DeBenedetti.

Taylor Fuller won the 25 lap Box Stock Main Event. Fuller took the lead from early leader Jacob James with a Turn 2 pass on lap 11 and led the rest of the way. Ryan Hirschbock had his best finish yet in second, followed by Keaton Augustine, James and Kiley Grimes.

Chayce Smith turned in a dominant performance in winning the 20 lap Beginners Box Stock Main Event. Even a late yellow flag couldn't slow him down as he bolted ahead and led the final few laps to win ahead of Shailene Horn, reigning champion Malachi Johnson, Mike Wheeler Jr and Carson Henson.

All of the Cage Kart classes ran their preliminaries on Friday night, and Johnny Burke and Mike Wheeler were the 10 lap 500 Open heat race winners. The second heat race saw Colby Bergquist hit the Turn 1 wall and flip. His first heat race was also eventful as he threw a wheel in Turn 3 and did three 360 spins before coming to a stop. Burke had mechanical issues leading the four lap Bragging Rights Dash as Wheeler collected the victory.

The 250 Karts ran two sets of heat races, and reigning champion Trevor Grimes won his first heat race by a wide margin ahead of Brionna Fuller. 2016 champion Bodee Weiser began what would be a perfect preliminary session by winning his first heat a half-lap in front of Vinny DeBenedetti. Bodee Weiser also won his second heat in front of Kloey Smith, while his brother Braden Weiser outran Grimes to win their second heat. It was Bodee Weiser outrunning Braden Weiser to win the four lap Bragging Rights Dash.

Up from the Beginners class, Jacob James won the first eight lap Box Stock heat race ahead of Ryan Hirschbock. Taylor Fuller won the second heat race in front of Hirschbock. Fuller had to be convinced to run the four lap Bragging Rights Dash and proceeded to make two passes on the last lap to steal the victory from Keaton Augustine.

The strongest field was produced by the Beginners Box Stock class as they ran two sets of eight lap heat races. Uriah Sanders scored the first heat race win by a comfortable margin ahead of Jamie DeBenedetti. Coming in from Hayfork, California, Chayce Smith won his first heat race by a wide margin in front of Shailene Horn. Smith also won his second heat ahead of Mike Wheeler Jr, while DeBenedetti outran Sanders to win their second Heat. Smith won the for lap Bragging Rights Dash ahead of Horn.

Lori Fuller and Steve Rambo each won and eight lap 206 heat races before Rambo won the Main Event in front of Fuller.
