Dwarf Cars Are Coming To Town For 4th Of July Excitement
Kalvin Morton #18 is off to a good start as the SODCA point leader.
To win in one of these cars, you have to bring your A Game. The competition has been fierce all season long, and there are several drivers looking for a win on the big Fourth of July stage. Leading the pack to Southern Oregon Speedway will be point leader Kalvin Morton. Morton has all Top 5 finishes at Southern Oregon Speedway, including one second, but his two victories have came at neighboring Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka. Because he has been so consistent, he has the point lead. He has also earned strong Top 3 finishes at Cottage Grove and Coos Bay this year.
Two time reigning champion Josh King #109 has three feature wins so far this year.
Despite a rough start, Brock Peters #2 is now second in the standings
Ryan Smith #26 is in the hunt for a win and finished second last time out.
Another driver you need to keep an eye on is the #26 car of Ryan Smith. The 2014 point runner up has been running strong all season long and was second at the most recent Southern Oregon Speedway event. He also grabbed the podium finish at Coos Bay last weekend. Smith has yet to win this season, but his win could happen at any time.
One driver who does have a win this year is 2015 point runnerup Camden Robustelli. Camden has been balancing his time between his Sprint Car and the Dwarf Car. He took the time to go to Coos Bay Speedway and drove to a Main Event win last Friday night. He followed that up with a podium finish the next night. Robusstelli would love to get a win at his home track, and it could happen on Monday.
Camden Robustelli #25 is coming off of a great weekend at Coos Bay where he picked up a win.
The reality is, the competition level is high in the Southern Oregon Dwarf Car Association. Sometimes people overlook these Dwarf Cars as they may be going to see Stock Cars or Sprint Cars, but most of the time they leave having been very entertained by what the Dwarf Car drivers do out on the racetrack. They run fast and they mix it up on the track each and every lap.
There are many talented racers in the field including Top 5 ranked Randy Slater, Rob Gergel, young Cody Peters, Jerry Hauck, Joe Sanders and Mark Nielsen. A field of a dozen to 16 of these race cars are expected to come to town on Monday following the race at Siskiyou Motor Speedway on Sunday. Who will be the winner this week?
So if these hard charging Southern Oregon Dwarf Cars aren't enough, the Pro Stocks and IMCA Sport Modifieds will make this an exciting race to see. Plus, there's a professionally run fireworks display to round out an entertaining evening. It's all happening on Monday at Southern Oregon Speedway.
