DeBenedetti, Grimes, Weller Win
At Little Southern Oregon Speedway

White City, Oregon...July 5...Jayme DeBenedetti continued to roll with her third 20 lap Beginners Box Stock Main Event win Friday night at Little Southern Oregon Speedway. DeBenedetti picked up a  heat race win, and she raced past Isaac Grimes on the second lap of the rapidly run Main Event. Caleb Ranney settled into second on the third lap and took up pursuit of the flying DeBenedetti. The leaders entered heavy traffic on the seventh lap, which made the race close. Both DeBenedetti and Ranney didn't let the slower Karts stop them, although both had scary moments. The only yellow flag of the race flew for Talia Colley in Turn 4 of the 18th lap. DeBenedetti resumed her rapid pace and collected the victory, followed by Ranney, Grimes, Colley and Saige King.

Brenden Weller snapped Trevor Taylor's two-race win streak in both the Open Flat Track Bikes and the 450cc class. Both 12 lap races had a similar tone. Taylor raced into the early lead, but Weller provided serious pressure as they ran side-by-side at times. The fifth lap proved to be the opportunity in both races for Weller to make what would be his winning passes. Weller went on to win the Open Bike race ahead of Taylor and Theo Lount. Taylor also finished second in the 450cc class. In the 250cc class, Taylor collected his third-straight win ahead of Lount and Carl Tresser.

Trevor Grimes swept both six lap heat races and the 20 lap 250 Kart Main Event. Grimes led every lap in victory with Emma Rodgers scoring a personal-best second place finish ahead of Cadyn Smith. The win also broke the point battle wide open as Jacob James suffered motor problems early on and scratched for the evening.

The Burson family enjoyed wins in both the Big Trike and the Small Trike classes. In the Small class, Mike Burson did a wheelie at the start/finish line and stalled, giving his daughter Mikayla Burson a huge lead that she would manage to cling to for the victory. Mike Burson was a close second. In the big class, Mike Burson trailed Brent Hagen for one lap before Burson took the lead and pulled away to victory. Hagen settled for second with Kristian Smart third.

Brody Taylor scored his third-straight 12 lap Small Bike Main Event win. Taylor led from the outset with Jeremiah Pruitt not too far behind in second. Jax Taylor finished third.

The little track will host Outlaw Karts, Flat Track Bikes, Trikes and Quads again on Friday, July 19th. For further information, go to www.southernoregonspeedway.com.
